Flavometrix is a privately owned contract research organisation, based in the grounds of the University of Nottingham. We assist clients all over the world, by providing innovative solutions to flavour and aroma problems. We specialise in strategic short to long term projects in the Food, Beverage and Personal Care sector.

We recognise that each client's needs are unique, which is why we prepare a proposal specifically tailored for that particular project. We're a small company, which means it's easy for clients to get in touch and discuss their needs direct with the scientists who understand their problems.

Established in 2004, we've developed a long list of repeat clients who continue to work with us because of our high quality science; quality of service and constant innovation.

 

Key Staff

Prof Andy Taylor is a director and founder of Flavometrix. He spent 32 years as Professor of Flavour Science at the University of Nottingham. Coinventor of the MS-Nose and with over 200 publications his experience covers a wide range of flavour applications.

Dr Jim Davidson completed his PhD in flavour chemistry in 2000. He then spent four years as senior scientist at West Pharmaceutical Services. Jim's expertise is developing LCMS methods for measuring non-volatile taste compounds, and looking at how they affect the percpetion of the volatile aroma compounds.

Dr Avinash Kant studied at the University of Nottingham and obtained a degree in Food Sciences, during which also gained 15 months of industrial experience with a leading snack food  company in R&D.  His PhD on 'The effect of Starch Matrix on Flavour Release' jointly funded by the BBSRC and CCFRA was completed in 2003.  Avinash’s expertise includes aroma extraction and analysis using GC-MS.
