• Analytical method development where high sensitivity is required.
• On line monitoring can be applied to fragrances in personal care products to determine release during use e.g. from skin.
• Identification of unknown related substances and impurities If the potency of a drug is falling, but degradation products cannot be identified (or even detected) using UV detection. Using liquid mass spectrometry we can perform a mass spectral scan of the degraded solution and identify specific ions. The mass of these ions can then be compared with the mass of potential degradation products.
• Taste masking If an oral or nasal drug formulation performs its medicinal task well, but has an unacceptable taste and/or odour, we can help develop a flavour that would successfully mask the unpleasant sensation, whilst maintaining the medicinal properties of the formulation.
